• My Badly Written Ode to Books

  I miss your pages.

  I miss disappearing into worlds

  that were not my own

  and did not involve

  the people or the problems

  in my everyday life.

  I miss the stories

  you would tell me

  as I drifted off to sleep

  and the meals we would share

  as you serenaded me.

  I miss you.
